Christchurch Netball Centre
Premier competition is now approaching the all important round 5 with a much anticipated match up between Premier 1 title holders Kereru A and 2018 runners up Technical A. Both teams are unbeaten to this point with Technical registering 80 goals for their last two contests. Premier teams competed in another highly successful Inter-Centre competition this year hosted over two weekends by Mid-Canterbury Netball Centre in April.
Premier 2 competition is also underway. Kia Toa A, St Margaret’s A, St Nicholas B, Kereru B and St Andrews A start the season in Premier 2, along with Christchurch Girls High A who were promoted as winners of the Senior 1 competition in 2017.
Saturday competition sees around 6000 visitors to our courts each Saturday, with Junior Netball comprising Mother Earth futureFERNS Years 1 & 2, 3 & 4 and 5 & 6 held mid-week through to Sunday, as well as games at Wilding Park.
These games are supported by more than 100 umpires registered with CNC this season, as well as bench officials and volunteers.
It’s the latest craze and Christchurch Netball Centre is pleased to now be able to offer Walking Netball at our Hagley Park courts. Walking netball is a great new way to play the game we all love!

Walking netball is also available on Wednesdays through CNC and Christchurch Resettlement Services at Riccarton Bush Scout Hall from 1pm for a gold coin donation.
Years 1 & 2 Mother Earth futureFERNS Cluster programs
Mother Earth futureFERNS Years 1 & 2 are being held again this year in cluster centres. The programme runs for 10 weeks at Hagley, Hornby, Sumner and Rowley Avenue. Hagley Park also hosts Christchurch Netball Centre’s unique Nettabury program for pre-schoolers on a Sunday.

Sumner Programme: Mon 30th April - Mon 2nd July (excluding Queens Birthday weekend) 3.30-4.30pm at Sumner School

Thorrington Programme: Thurs 17 May – Thurs 5th July 3.30-4.30pm at Thorrington School.
Our very popular Jellybean Tournament for years 5-8 teams is back for 2018!

Date: Sunday 10th June - postponement date Sunday 24th June
Time: 9am - 1pm
This is a round robin tournament which concludes with playoffs, semis and finals.

Queen’s Birthday Tournament for Representative teams
Christchurch representative teams will soon start preparations for their first competition of the season at the Queen’s Birthday Tournament at Bishopdale YMCA on the 3th and 4th June.
The Under 19 grade traditionally has teams from Christchurch, Nelson, Selwyn, Invercargill and a Mainland combined team. The Under 17 grade will have teams from Christchurch, Netball Eastern Southland, Mid Canterbury, North Canterbury, South Canterbury, Selwyn, Invercargill and Wakatipu.
Call backs are being held for both Under 19 and Under 17 representative teams on Sunday 20 May, with teams to be named shortly after.
All Under 15 and Under 14 CNC representative teams have been named and will contest the Netball Mainland Under 14/15 Championships from 2nd to 4th June in Ashburton.
