The Marlborough Netball Centre has made some changes to make it easier for our members and netball community to be in the loop of what is happening within our centre.

We set up a new website, more user friendly and easy to find your way. We also renewed our sponsorship with Wadsco Motorworld and they upgraded our vehicle to a new Suzuki Grant Vitara with more space for Anna to get gear in to take to schools. Thank you Wadsco!
Our Premier grade is a grade filled with players of all kind of greatness; youth, experience & emerging talent and high performance group players. We have had some movement of players in the centre joining other clubs and evened out the strength in some clubs. HQ Radich Law represented our Centre at the Super Club and had a great experience.
Our umpires continue to upskill, with good numbers of junior whistlers coming through. Introducing the zero tolerance to side line abuse last season, this season we will enforce it again. I am so excited about our group of Technical Officials that has grown and they enjoy their part in controlling our Premier games on Tuesday nights. Two of our TO has been named to be part of national tournaments this season – we wish them well and we are so proud of them.
We had an increase in junior teams with the ANZ Junior Programme that was run on a Friday afternoon from 4 pm. Our numbers doubles + more from last year, so that we have all our courts full on Friday afternoons and having to run a Saturday morning session too.
Anna has been working closely with a group of emerging talent players here at Marlborough Netball Centre. They were sponsored by Jacinta Yardley from Bayleys Marlborough over a 10 week period. These 24 girls had to work hard at group sessions in the pool, Yoga, RPO classes and nutrition sessions. They finished their week off with a Cove to Cove in the sounds. Anna also had them sign a commitment form in which they have to give 5 hours work back to the centre. So they all became Star helpers for the ANZ programme. Well done girls.

As for the future of netball’s location in Marlborough – we will be moving to Lansdowne Park. We are working closely with Council and the consultant with the layout of courts and the needs for a sports hub.
Our centre is always on the lookout for more Volunteers to help run our competition on a Saturday. We can train you to become a Technical Official, maybe a coach or umpire or even if you just run the Saturday office for us.
