Hellers Mainland climbed to the top of the Beko Netball League ladder courtesy of a narrow win and the efforts of their netballing neighbours.

Heller’s Mainland pocketed some valuable Beko Netball League points to maintain second spot on the ladder and an eye on next month’s grand final.

After suffering several close losses, the Silvermoon Tactix reversed the trend to pip the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel 53-52 in a thriller in Dunedin today.

Round 6 of the Beko Netball League saw the Hellers Mainland team at home (Lincoln Events Centre) against the Northern Comets on Sunday 17 June. 

In yet another heart-stopper, the Ascot Southern Steel have stolen a one-goal victory from the Silvermoon Tactix, 53-52, in Christchurch tonight.

Heller’s Mainland performances on court have pushed them to the top of the Beko Netball League table, while their coach’s performance off court has also been making a significant impact.

I have had many opportunities through my involvement in netball, with several of my roles involving travel, for which I have been very fortunate and grateful. My most recent netball excursion away from New Zealand has to rate as one of the highlights though!

Round 5 of the Beko Netball League saw the Hellers Mainland team playing WBOP in Rotorua on Sunday 10 June at Rotorua Girls’ High School, having played each other just seven days earlier in Ashburton, where the Hellers Mainland team came out the winners.
